Education, Housing and Income are Decisive Influences on Health
Poverty has a decisive influence on the health and longevity of Canadians, according to a report released Tuesday by the Canadian Medical Association (CMA).
The CMA report, ‘Health Care in Canada: What makes us sick,’ Was the result of a series of public consultations across Canada to examine which factors according to Canadians according to them have an impact on their health.
The report recommendations to the Canadian Government are the following, reduce poverty through guaranteed annual income, more affordable housing, expanding the program “Housing First” developed by the Mental Health Commission of Canada for people with chronic mental health, and to introduce a national food security program.
